A question about Booth on Bones?

First of all I know it’s fiction and just a tv show but I’m just curious.
Is it just me or throughout the series Booth has been unneccissarily protective over his partner Dr. Brennan(Bones)?
I can’t remember if Mulder on the X-files was protective over Scully.
Also on SVU Stabler is married and Olivia is not and he’s not protective over his partner(Benson) like the guys on Bones and Xfiles(Booth and Mulder).
What do you think?

Yes, Booth is very protective over Bones. Not as much at first. But as their "relationship" grew & they worked more closely together, he obviously fell in love with her, so it’s a natural reaction to be that way. Even if he wasn’t in love (secretly) with her, it would still be a Natural protective feeling he has towards his "partner".
he is protective, but i think its because he likes her and dosent want her to get hurt. sometimes it does pay off.
If you pay real attention to the Booth character, you’ll note two things: (1) he is a Staunch, devoted Catholic who tries to closely follow the teachings of the church; and (2) he regards all "squints" (geniuses) as people who are unable to deal with the real world. Even though Booth has gained respect for Temperance (she can, after all, pretty much whip a**), he still regards her as a genius woman who, from his point of view, needs protection.
